A pregnant woman squirted blood on to the court during her trial in Germany’s southern city of Würzburg after she had been declared “in a state”, according to a report in the Welt am Sonntag newspaper.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was in the court to have her trial postponed after her lawyer said she did not have permission to go.
The woman had been charged with causing a miscarriage after the procedure she underwent in a hospital, but her lawyer denied the accusation.
The court was reportedly filled with people who were “stunned” and “shocked”, according a report on the court website.
The German state prosecutor said that after the woman had squirted, the prosecutor asked her to put on her medical mask and asked her not to show her face during the proceedings.
The defendant was then taken into custody and was later charged with “inciting public disorder” and was ordered to undergo an “intensive psychiatric examination”.
The trial was postponed to June 24.
